General Info

Our Driver Education Course fulfills the requirements of the State Board Education for obtaining a "Certificate of Completion".

You have a choice between two Driver Education programs:

  1. Basic Driver Education course that includes:

    30 hours of classroom instructions
    6 hours of behind-the-wheel training
6 hours of observation in the car

  2. Advanced Driver Education course that includes:

    30 hours of classroom instructions
8 hours of private behind-the-wheel training

The classroom and behind-the-wheel phases are offered in an integrated program for five weeks. Content includes rules of the road, physical and mental factors affecting the driver, concepts necessary for safe motoring, understanding of functioning of the motor vehicle, motor skills, visual skills, application of laws, driving emergencies, accurate judgments and timed correct responses. Classroom sessions meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 PM or 6-8 PM for five weeks. During the summer break we also offer classes from 10 AM - 12 PM & 1-3 PM. A student is allowed to miss up to 4 classroom sessions. Make up classes are required.

At the end of the second week of classes our students are taken to the Secretary of State facility for their Instruction Permit test. Later, they are scheduled for behind-the-wheel driving and observation time. Each student receives four 3-hour sessions (90 minutes of driving and 90 minutes of observation time per session). We will schedule driving appointments at the student's convenience.

After completing the Driver Education Course and paying the full tuition fee, our students are presented an Illinois Driver Education Certificate issued by the Secretary of State.
